- K-Factor
In fire protection, the term K-factor refers to the measure of the flow and pressure of water through the orifice of a fire sprinkler head. The characteristics of the orifice are used to determine the k-factor and include the diameter of the orifice, flow rate and water through the orifice.
The K-factor is different between Metric and US Imperial and the are not equivalent or interchangeable.
