FAS means Fire Alarm System and is a term used to describe a fire detection and alarm system. A FAS Fault is any fault reported by a fire detection and alarm system and relayed to a fire system monitoring provider.
The Centaur II, Alarm Signalling Equipment ("ASE") provided by ADT Fire Monitoring is a electronic device that is used to receive signals from a Fire Detection and Alarm System and transmit those signals to the fire brigade. The ASE has a number of status signals that flash on and off to indicate the status of the ASE.
In Victoria, Alarm Signalling Equipment ("ASE") is an item of equipment leased by the Building Owner from a Monitoring Service Provider that provides the interface between an Automatic Fire Sprinkler System or a Fire Detection & Alarm System to the Automatic Fire Alarm Service Provider (“AFASP”), via Emergency Services Telecommunications Authority (“ESTA”) and finally to the relevant Fire Brigade.
An ASE or Alarm Signalling Equipment is a device used to aggregate and transmit a fire alarm signal from a fire alarm system or fire sprinkler system via a monitoring service provider to the fire brigade. In some circumstances an ASE can be installed incorrectly or modified such that they do not transmit the required alarm, fault or isolate signals.
