Support Engineer (Level 3)

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for diagnosing technical problems and carrying out on site repairs to all types of communications systems and equipment including Fire Alarm Systems, VESDA, EWIS and Access Control Systems. You may be placed on a rotating call-out roster for emergency breakdowns.

This is an opportunity to gain exposure to all facets of fire safety from, fire sprinkler systems, fire detection and alarm systems, passive fire safety, security and general fire protection. This will allow the right candidate to broaden their knowledge and be a well rounded team player.

Selection Criteria

If you are the right person, then you may already be working in the, Telecommunications, Military, Avionics, Robotics, Programmable Logic Controllers or IT Industries. You hobbies may include electronics, computers, computer networking, astronomy, ip telephony or the like.

The right person will have the following;

  • Advanced electronics certificate or equivalent in electrical engineering.
  • Fluent knowledge of low voltage DC circuitry
  • Strong writing skills and ability to communicate ideas clearly.
  • Proven customer management and organisation skills.
  • Australian or New Zealand work visa

Qualifications

Have an advanced electronics certificate or equivalent in electrical engineering. You will be responsible for your own jobs from start to finish and be able to complete hazard assessments on site & on site relevant paperwork ready for invoice.

As the face of the company you will regularly be with customers and therefore need to be well presented and have a good level of communication skills.

Experience

To be considered for this role you will need to have an advanced electronics certificate or equivalent in electrical engineering. Ideally you have a number of years experience in the field as a service or support engineer.

The ideal candidate may also bring experience in fire detection and alarm system design, installation and maintenance.

Maintenance Essentials operates throughout Victoria with most of our business occurring in Melbourne and the surrounding areas.
