Building Code of Australia (BCA 2008) Draft Public Comment

According to an email I received from the ABCB today, the draft changes for BCA 2008 are available for public comment. The Building Code of Australia is a performance-based document that states the technical provisions that buildings and other structures throughout Australia must meet.

The draft changes for the 2008 edition of the Building Code of Australia (BCA 2008) have been placed on the ABCB website for public comment and to give BCA users advance notice of proposals that may take effect from 1 May 2008.

The period for comment on the BCA 2008 draft proposals closes on Wednesday 1 August 2007. Given the ABCB's commitment to making BCA 2008 available as early as possible to enable industry to prepare for the changes, comments made after this date will not be considered.
